10 Students of MSU-Maguindanao Receive Laptops and Cash Assistance from CHEDRO XII (CoScho) Program

#MSUMagAt50 | Ten (10) students from MSU-Maguindanao, representing the colleges of Engineering, Agriculture, and Fisheries, received a scholarship valued laptop worth 30,000 pesos and cash assistance worth 30,000 pesos under the CHEDRO XII Coconut Farmers and their Families Scholarship (CoScho) Program on January 26, 2024.

This initiative stemmed from the Memorandum of Agreement signed on December 1, 2023 between Mindanao State University-Maguindanao and the Commission on Higher Education Regional Office XII headed by Dr. Nelia A. Alibin, and attended by CHEDRO Representative Jocelyn C. Santoceldes and MSU-Maguindanao representative Jhon Carlo Parcon, the Admission and Scholarship Officer.

The scholarship program, aimed at promoting social equity among coconut farmers, addressing poverty within their communities, and facilitating quality education for their children and dependents, supports students pursuing degrees in agriculture, agricultural engineering, agribusiness management, agricultural economics, and other relevant fields identified by the Philippine Coconut Authority (PCA).

The University extends gratitude to the CHEDRO’s CoScho Scholarship program for its generous support, as this collaboration promotes sustainable development in the coconut farming community. It marks a significant step towards a brighter future for the recipients and strengthens the partnership working towards social and economic empowerment.
