On the 3rd day of welcoming the freshmen, MSU-Maguindanao through the Division of Student Affairs (DSA), in collaboration with the Philippine Statistics Authority-BARMM, offered a free PSA and National ID registration open for all students and employees along with their family members this morning, August 7, at the Training Center Hall A. Due to the underlying issue among students who do not have the necessary documents for enrollment, the institution saw the need to respond.
Among the beneficiaries of this program was Miss Hairan A. Abdulhamid, a student of AB Islamic Studies-Shariah from the College of Art and Sciences (CAS), who shared that the opportunity urged her to register for free.
βNarinig ko at nakita sa post na magkakaroon ng free registration sa MSU-Maguindanao. Gi-grab ko yung opportunity na ipa-register si Ina pati ng aking pamangkin at para din maka less ng gastos sa pamasahe, oras at lalo na yung babayaran sa PSA Office.β
While some students may have rejoiced about the chance, others voiced disappointment over a miscommunication regarding PSA registration. Instead of the free birth certificate registration for PSA that most students anticipated, it turned out that only those without a live birth certificate are eligible for registration.
The officiating staff clarified that there is huge equipment needed that cannot be brought from the main office to the university. Instead, they advised the students to visit their offices in Cotabato City.
