#MSUMag | In the light of the observance of the National Peace Consciousness Month, the Institute for Peace and Development in Mindanao together with this semester’s FPE101 educators and the University Peace Club conducted FPE101’s special session on youth peacebuilding in the BARMM held on September 23, 2022, at Datu Odin Sinsuat Gymnasium, MSU-Maguindanao Campus.

Bangsamoro Youth Commissioner Nasserudin Dunding together with his chief of staff, Ms. Sohaila B. Macadato shared the roles of youth in sustaining the gains of peace in the region. Sharing Islamic perspective in youth peacebuilding was Sheikh Qardhawie Salik, the Chairman of the Union of Muslim Youth Organizations.

The virtual message of Chancellor Bai Hejira Limbona highlighted the significance of peace celebrations all throughout the world which allow to reflect the ideas of peace, justice, and respect.

September is herein declared as the National Peace Consciousness Month in 2004 through the Proclamation no. 675. This year’s theme is “Pagkakaisa at Paghilom: Isang Bansa para sa Kapayapaan.”
