46th Pre-Commencement Exercises for Undergraduate Programs
#MSUMagAt50 | Mindanao State University – Maguindanao celebrated its 46th Pre-Commencement Exercises for undergraduate programs, recognizing the achievements of its 214 graduates, including 27 Latin Awardees and other Special Awardees, on July 6, 2024, at the Datu Odin Sinsuat Gymnasium.
Engr. Akan G. Tula, the 46th Pre-Commencement Guest Speaker, emphasized the value of education, urging, “Let us go forward and use our education to transform not just our lives but also the lives of those around us. In doing so, we will honor the legacy of this great institution and bring everlasting pride to MSU-Maguindanao and the countless individuals who have paved the way for us to stand here today.”
Thereafter, the ceremony recognized university and college awards, with special acknowledgment of outstanding academic achievements.
Julius Kristian C. Villa, Senior Human Resource Specialist at the Civil Service Commission for BARMM, conferred eligibility to the graduates with Latin honors.
MSU-Maguindanao headed by Chancellor Bai Hejira Nefertiti M. Limbona acknowledged the outstanding achievements of two alumni who placed in the top 9 of their respective licensure examinations. Bai Rehana M. Lauban, RFT, excelled in the Fisheries Technologists Licensure Examination, while Rahima A. Akmad, LPT, achieved high marks in the Licensure Examination for Professional Teachers. Each received recognition of Academic Excellence with plaque and cash prizes worth of 50,000, for their exceptional performances, implicating their dedication and academic excellence.
Henceforth, the university also honored the College of Education for its commitment to advancing the teaching profession and producing future leaders in the Bangsamoro. The College of Education headed by Dean Dr. Joel C. Arenas, was recognized for its outstanding performance in the Licensure Examination for Professional Teachers, achieving a 100% passing rate at the Elementary level and a 73.40% passing rate at the Secondary level in March 24, 2024 examination conducted by the Professional Regulation Commission.
The graduates were emotional as they sung their graduation song “Wherever I Go”, reminding that they did great in their academic journey and they will be entering new phase of their academic life.
Distribution of diplomas were made and tribute to parents and guardians happened acknowledging their tireless efforts and sacrifices they’ve made for their children.
Henceforth, the program concluded with closing remarks by VCRE Dr. Raquel D. Santiago-Arenas and a University Hymn sung by the MSU-Maguindanao Choir.
