Bayanihan Para sa Klima: Bagong Bansang Matatag

#MSUMagAt50 | MSU-Maguindanao joins the Climate Change Commission PH in commemoration of the 16th Annual Global Warming and Climate Change Consciousness Week with the theme, “Bayanihan Para sa Klima: Bagong Bansang Matatag”. The host university organized a tree planting activity on the 2nd day of the 4th International Conference of Environment and Forest Conservation (ICEFC) at the Aboitiz Cleanergy Park, Davao City. There were 50 foreign and local delegates who planted 160 mangrove propagules.

Mr. Reynol Felix, the Admin Head of Davao Light and Power, Inc. illuminated their initiatives on environmental conservation and turtle protection by conserving different species of birds and sea turtles.

Mr. Alexis Lapiz, Division Chief, Strategic Partnership Divisions of Climate Change Commission shared that, tree planting is anchored in our National Action Plan of Climate Change Commission, which is one of the major national-based solutions to climate change. Moreover, he expressed that this kind of activity is a reason why partnerships are forged. It is a practical solution to help environmental stability and is as a manifestation of our pledge to advance environmental sustainability.

Further supporting the Net Zero Challenge, MSU-Maguindanao launched a tree-pledging initiative where participants from the international conference committed to plant seeds within 1 year. At the end of the conference, a total of 3707 trees were pledged. This program is also launched on the website of MSU-Maguindanao.
