MSU–Maguindanao Improves Quality Assurance with ISO 9001:2015 Audit and Internal Audit Training

MSU–Maguindanao demonstrates its commitment to quality assurance and institutional excellence by strengthening its Quality Management System (QMS). The university has maintained ISO 9001:2015 certification for the Admission of New Students under the Institute of Management and associated support processes. Furthermore, MSU–Maguindanao is preparing to extend ISO 9001:2015 certification to all university operations.

To support this initiative, the Quality Management System Office and the Office of the Vice Chancellor for Planning and Development organized a three-day program from March 2 to 4, 2026. The program included Internal Quality Audit (IQA) Training for Internal Quality Auditors and a university-wide ISO 9001:2015 Certification Readiness Audit.

Chancellor Bai Hejira M. Limbona emphasized the need to maintain compliance with established standards and to reinforce internal audit mechanisms to ensure that university operations align with institutional policies, regulatory requirements, and international quality standards.

The program was designed to help MSU–Maguindanao’s Internal Quality Auditors develop the skills needed to conduct audits effectively. There was also a two-day readiness audit to assess how prepared academic and administrative units are, identify strengths and areas for improvement, and suggest ways to enhance processes and documentation.

Mr. Gerard Cayetano led the training and introduced ISO 19011:2018 as a framework for auditing management systems. He demonstrated practical ways to plan, conduct, and report on internal audits.

Through interactive discussions and workshops, participants learned more about audit processes and how internal auditors help the university continue to improve.
