The 52nd Founding Anniversary of Mindanao State University–Maguindanao reached a heartwarming highlight on October 8, 2025, at the Datu Odin Sinsuat Gymnasium with the presence of Hon. Bai Dimple I. Mastura, Representative of Cotabato City and Maguindanao del Norte and Assistant Majority Leader of the 20th Congress, who delivered an inspiring message to the university community.
The congresswoman lauded MSU–Maguindanao for being a “luminous path of resilience, unity, and excellence in the heart of Mindanao.” She recognized the institution as part of her district, adding that she was happy and proud to represent a university that continues to show progress and dedication to education.
Recognizing MSU–Maguindanao’s vital role in promoting peace and progress in the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region, Cong. Dimple commended its initiatives such as the Diploma in Women, Peace, and Security Program. She shared that she had filed a resolution in the House of Representatives supporting similar efforts.
She also highlighted her legislative support for the university, including House Bill 3489, which seeks to upgrade the MSU–Maguindanao Infirmary into a Level 3 hospital, and the upcoming ₱10-million multipurpose building for students. She further assured continued assistance through scholarships, campus improvements, and a road development project within the university.
Having personally visited the campus, Cong. Mastura noted the muddy road conditions and vowed, “Asahan ninyo po, within my term, hindi matatapos ang aking second term na hindi natatapos ang kalsadang ‘yan, in shaa Allah.”
She also announced new scholarship programs for deserving students to help ease their financial burdens, recognizing the sacrifices of parents who strive to support their children’s education. “Andito ang inyong Ate Dimple upang umalalay sa inyong pag-aaral sa abot ng aking makakaya,” she assured.
Before concluding her speech, she expressed her intention to return to MSU–Maguindanao, saying, “Asahan ninyo po na sa loob ng aking second term, hindi ito ang una at huli nating pagkikita. Sa next Founding Anniversary, may kasama na po akong artista. Labas pa doon, babalik pa ako upang makapagbigay ng tulong pinansyal sa ating mga estudyante.”
The celebration continued with energetic performances from the top three winners of the Benchyell Competition and a heartfelt rendition of Hindi Tayo Pwede by the Singing Solo Contest champion.
Thereafter, Chancellor Bai Hejira Nefertiti M. Limbona expressed her heartfelt gratitude to Cong. Dimple for her support and commitment to MSU–Maguindanao’s continued growth, especially her commitment to improve the university roads and sustain her engagement with the academic community.
The program concluded with a ceremonial toss to officially open the championship game, sealing the day with hope for greater milestones ahead.
