New Multi-Purpose Building Strengthens Student Support at MSU–Maguindanao

Mindanao State University–Maguindanao conducted the ceremonial turnover of its new Multi-Purpose Building at the Student Village Area, MSU-Maguindanao, on March 9, 2026. This development represents a substantial enhancement of campus infrastructure and student support services.

The project received funding through the initiative of former Representative Mohamad P. Paglas of the 1st Lone District of Maguindanao del Sur, reflecting a collective commitment to broadening educational opportunities and empowering youth in the region.

Chancellor Bai Hejira Nefertiti M. Limbona, represented by Vice Chancellor Madame Angelita Datucan, expressed gratitude to partners and stakeholders for their continued support of the university’s development. She underscored the importance of educational investment in expanding community opportunities and shaping the province’s future.

Vice Chancellor for Planning and Development Dr. Arceli B. Naraga highlighted the facility’s significance in addressing the growing demand for student spaces. She stated that the new Multi-Purpose Building will augment existing accommodations and is anticipated to attract additional students from Maguindanao del Sur and neighboring areas.

Cong. Paglas, represented by Executive Secretary Alex S. Pompong, reiterated his strong support for initiatives to enhance the university’s learning environment. The statement emphasized that the project prioritizes the welfare and development of students from Maguindanao del Sur, adjacent provinces, and throughout Mindanao who pursue higher education at MSU–Maguindanao.

The new facility is designed to serve as a venue for student activities, academic events, and community engagement, thereby supporting the university’s mission to provide accessible and high-quality higher education.

The ceremony concluded with an appeal for sustained collaboration among stakeholders to ensure that the facility effectively meets the needs of the academic community.
