MSUMag Secures Employees’ Health with Second Dose of Cervical Cancer and HIV Awareness & Vaccination Drive

On August 13, 2025, the MSU–Maguindanao Infirmary Hospital, in collaboration with the Human Resource and Management Office (HRMO) and the Ministry of Health – BARMM, conducted the second dose of the “Cervical Cancer and HIV Awareness & Vaccination Drive” at the Infirmary Hospital. This initiative aimed to raise awareness on cervical cancer and HIV among university personnel while completing their preventive HPV vaccination series.

Chancellor Bai Hejira Nefertiti M. Limbona expressed full support for the university’s health and wellness programs, emphasizing the importance of safeguarding employees’ well-being to ensure a healthier, more productive academic community.

The first dose was administered on June 13, 2025, and this follow-up marked the completion of the two-dose schedule for participating staff. A total of 48 teaching and non-teaching personnel, aged 25 to 45 years old, received their second dose. To ensure smooth and efficient vaccine administration, the Infirmary Hospital received assistance from the DOS District Hospital, which deployed five trained vaccinators to support the activity.

The program achieved a 100% vaccination rate among those present. Nurses recommend scheduling catch-up sessions for those who missed their second dose and continuing similar vaccination drives as part of the university’s regular health and wellness initiatives, with ongoing support from the Ministry of Health – BARMM and health partners such as the DOS District Hospital.
