MSUMag Marks 2025 World Health Day with Health Talks

On May 2, 2025, the MSU-Maguindanao Infirmary Hospital Team celebrated World Health Day with the theme “Healthy Beginning, Hopeful Future” at the Training Center Hall B, MSU-Maguindanao. The program brought students for an engaging and informative discussion on health and wellness, particularly in the area of maternal and newborn care.

One of the highlights of the celebration was the lecture delivered by Dr. Firkhan A Estrella, the University Physician. His talk focused on improving maternal and newbom health, addressing key challenges and offering practical strategies that students can promote within their communities. Also, he stressed the importance of intervention and proper prenatal care.

Ms. Julmaherria M. Salipada, Director of the Division of Student Affairs, also expressed her support for the initiative and encouraged students to be active advocates of public health.

The students from the College of Arts and Sciences and College of Public Affairs and Governance  participated in the event. Their attendance reflected the growing interest and responsibility among youth in contributing to public health discussion.

The 2025 World Health Day celebration concluded with a call for continued collaboration. Through event like this, the university is committed to educating future leaders who are not only academically equipped, but also socially responsible in promoting health and well-being for all.
