MSUMag Launches Academic Building Upgrade Projects Funded by the DBM

A groundbreaking ceremony marked the commencement of upgrade projects for the College of Fisheries and the College of Forestry and Environmental Studies buildings at MSU-Maguindanao on March 7, 2025. These projects, funded by the DBM led by Secretary Amenah F. Pangandaman, aim to enhance learning facilities by providing modern classrooms, laboratories, and research spaces, thereby supporting high-quality education and hands-on training. The construction is expected to be completed in 11 months. This initiative will also strengthen academic and research programs, promote sustainable and climate-resilient practices, and integrate advanced technology to improve teaching and research capabilities.

Chancellor Bai Hejira M. Limbona affirmed that this moment was a long-held dream—one that the students truly deserve. “We are deeply grateful to DBM Secretary Amenah F. Pangandaman for funding these projects, which will help shape the next generation,” she stated. With a total amount of ₱132 million, these initiatives will strengthen MSU-Maguindanao’s academic programs. The university reaffirms its commitment to the fields that laid its foundation—fisheries, forestry, and agriculture. As flagship programs, these disciplines serve as the backbone of the institution, and MSU-Maguindanao remains dedicated to upholding and prioritizing them. “Together, let us continue working to fulfill the aspirations of the Bangsamoro,” she concluded.

BPDA Director General Mohajirin Ali, represented by Engr. Amil J. Abubakar, Deputy Bangsamoro Director General of the Bangsamoro Planning and Development Authority, emphasized BPDA’s commitment to supporting MSU-Maguindanao’s mission of enhancing human capital in BARMM through collaboration with the academic sector and the Bangsamoro Economic and Development Council (BEDC). “We envision that by strengthening collaborations among key partners and stakeholders, we can contribute to achieving the overall goal of the 2nd Bangsamoro Development Plan, which is for the Bangsamoro to be ‘empowered, cohesive, and progressive,” he stated.
