MSU-Maguindanao joins the celebration of the 2023 MSU Peace Day
#MSUMag | The Mindanao State University – Maguindanao joined the celebration of the 2nd Mindanao State University Peace Day on August 25, 2023. The Institute for Peace and Development in Mindanao in partnerships with Sports and Development Office, Bachelor of Physical Education Program, Supreme Student Council, and the University Peace Club conducted series of activities for the whole day celebration.
During the 2023 MSU Peace Day, the students participated in the peace walk around the campus and in the re-opening of Peace-Tambayan for MSU-Maguindanao students. The Supreme Student Council and the University Peace Club spearheaded fun activities, and opened spaces for them to share their talents and peace messages. The Year II of the Peace of Arts: Tote Bag Painting Contest was spearheaded by the IPDM with the help of Mr. Gindol Rey Limbaro and Mr. Abdulmalik Manalao. Khyte Ann G. Sumugod from the College of Education was declared Champion of the said contest. The activity was concluded through Peace-Sayawan: Dancercise sa mga Awit Pang-Kapayapaan.
The declaration of August 25 as MSU Peace Day in the entire system was approved by the MSU Board of Regents through BOR Resolution no. 302, series of 2022. This aimed at intensifying the initiatives of MSU campuses on peacebuilding and making all universities reflect on their journey towards peace.
This year, the System celebrates MSU Peace Day with the theme “Resilience and Renewal: MSU’s Commitment to Sustainable Peace, Transitional Justice, Reconciliation, and Unity.”
