MSUMag inks MOA with MOSEP

#MSUMag | The ceremonial signing of Contract Agreement between MSU-Maguindanao and Mindanao Organization for Social and Economic Progress Inc. (MOSEP) headed by President Sajid Daud represented by its Vice President, Uztadz Jaafar M. Ali on the Conduct of Baseline Assessment of United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) and the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (UNFAO) Joint Programme on Resilient Livelihoods Development for Women and Youth IDPs in Maguindanao, was formally inked on March 29, 2023, at Simeon Datumanong Hall, Graduate Studies, Tamontaka, Datu Odin Sinsuat, Maguindanao.

Chancellor Limbona expressed her message of commitment and belief that, given its current position, MSU-Maguindanao’s goal is to improve the lives of the community where they are situated. She implied that this promotes community building and development because the period spent in a position is limited, the legacy of oneโ€™s accomplishments is what remains. Further, she noted that it’s fortunate to have partners who share the same vision and emphasized the importance of collaboration and community development in achieving this goal.

VP Uztadz Ali conveyed that he is grateful to have the partnership with MSU-Maguindanao through the Office of the Vice Chancellor for Research and Extension (OVCRE) for this project. They are grateful to the University for accepting the challenge of serving the people. They promise to be readily available for any support and guidance from them.

MOSEP is an implementing partner of the UNFPA and the UNFAO it is responsible for implementing the joint program on Resilient Livelihoods Development for Women and Youth IDPs in Maguindanao, which is funded by the Government of Australia’s Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade. The baseline assessment is part of the program’s implementation, as it will serve as the basis from which the success of the joint program will be measured. This contract agreement with MSU-Maguindanao will run from March 16, 2023 to June 7, 2023, with the possibility of an extension.

In attendance during the ceremonial signing were Dr. Mariam K. Ali, Program Manager and Chancellor for Research and Extension of MOSEP, Ms. Rochel Angela Yu, UNFPA Head of Sub-office, Mr. Kim Ian Tiu, UNFPA Staff Analyst, Ms. Alibai Salik, FPA-UNFPA, Helen M., Dr. Raquel Santiago-Arenas, Research Director, Prof. Grant Warren Lu, and some faculty and staff.
