MSU-Maguindanao Partners with MP Ambolodto in a Training-Workshop for Maguindanao Secondary School Educators

MSU-Maguindanao, in partnership with the Office of MP Atty. Suharto M. Ambolodto, conducted a five-day training workshop titled “Empowering Educators: Ethics, Learning Objectives, Assessments, Peace, and Technology Integration in Teaching” for secondary school educators from Maguindanao Division I, held from November 25–29, 2024, at Haraya Hall, Alnor Convention Center.

Chancellor Bai Hejira Nefertiti M. Limbona has been committed to reaching out to neighboring communities to support their educational needs, strengthening and addressing the evolving needs of both educators and students. This partnership with MP Ambolodto aligns with her vision of promoting collaborative efforts to uplift education in the BARMM region. Through this, it also advances one of the university’s core missions: to train and enhance human capital through quality educational experiences.

The workshop aimed to enhance educators’ ability to design effective learning objectives, integrate ethical principles, apply fair assessments, and incorporate technology and peace education into their teaching. It was designed to address the unique educational needs of Maguindanao educators and equip them with the skills to promote peace, inclusivity, and ethical practices in the classroom.

Dr. Maeda L. Kadtong and Prof. Asgar D. Mamidted covered topics on educator ethics and designing learning objectives relevant to local contexts. On days two and three, VCAA Dr. Marissa N. Parcon, discussed best practices in test construction and fair assessment design. On the fourth day, Dr. Joel C. Arenas, Dean of the College of Education, along with Prof. John Paul N. Cabotaje and Prof. Alvin Lois E. Pembarat, explored integrating digital tools into peace education, with Prof. Cabotaje also introducing AI applications in education to enhance teaching and student engagement.

The workshop concluded with an emphasis on the importance of continuous professional development and adapting to future educational trends.
