MSU-Maguindanao Graduating Students Receive Congressional Education Cash Assistance
#MSUMagAt50 | Seventy-eight (78) graduating students from Mindanao State University-Maguindanao, who are residents of Maguindanao del Sur, received congressional cash assistance of ₱5,000 each. This initiative was spearheaded by Congressman Datu Mohamad “Tong” Pendatun Paglas, Sr. Al-hadj, in collaboration with the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD). The distribution ceremony was held at the Datu Paglas Gymnasium in the Municipality of Datu Paglas, Maguindanao del Sur.
The Congressional Education Cash Assistance aimed to support students in preparing for their professional journey after graduation. The distribution process included a thorough verification process to ensure eligibility. DSWD personnel facilitated the distribution, guaranteeing that all necessary documentation was completed. In addition, six representatives from Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) were present at the ceremony.
Congressman Paglas emphasized the importance of education and highlighted the crucial role of the youth in positively transforming their communities. He reiterated that “Kabataan ang pag-asa ng bayan, edukasyon ang susi sa kahirapan”, signifying that the youth are the hope of the nation and education is the key to overcoming poverty.
The students were accompanied by Mr. Asrab E. Mokamad, Ms. Frossalyn Matabalao, and Mr. Johari S. Datucan from the Admissions Office.
