MSU-Maguindanao Engages in Multisectoral International Learning Exchange in Yogyakarta

Mindanao State University – Maguindanao has officially arrived in Yogyakarta, Indonesia for a week-long international learning immersion from June 18 to 20, 2025, aimed at strengthening its flagship Diploma in Women, Peace, and Security (DWPS) program.

The initiative is supported by the United Kingdom (UK) Government through the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) Philippines. It seeks to deepen academic and policy engagements with leading Indonesian institutions on the Women, Peace and Security (WPS) agenda.

Joining the MSU-Maguindanao delegation are representatives from the Office of the Presidential Adviser on Peace, Reconciliation and Unity – Center for Excellence on WPS (OPAPRU-COE), the Philippine Center for Islam and Democracy (PCID), the Bangsamoro Women Commission (BWC), the Ministry of Peace and Order (MPOS), and the Development Academy of the Bangsamoro (DAB), along with some DWPS students.

This international learning visit highlights MSU-Maguindanao’s continuing contribution to the broader WPS agenda by advancing education that is gender-responsive, grounded in community realities, and oriented toward sustainable peace.
