Mindanao State University–Maguindanao, headed by Chancellor Bai Hejira Nefertiti M. Limbona, held a three-day Strategic Planning Workshop on February 9–11, 2026 to craft its New Five-Year Development Plan (NFYDP) 2026–2030 following the completion of the FYDP 2021–2025.
Chancellor Bai Hejira outlined key priorities, emphasizing shared responsibility among faculty and staff, alignment of roles with institutional goals, and the review and strengthening of college structures to ensure efficiency and accountability. She stressed that the NFYDP must be realistic, inclusive, and anchored in the University’s vision and long-term development agenda.
Vice Chancellor for Planning and Development Dr. Arceli B. Naraga highlighted participatory, evidence-based planning as leaders reviewed accomplishments across Key Result Areas and refined strategic goals, objectives, and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs). Strategic inputs from Dr. Ramjie Y. Odin and Dr. Raquel S. Arenas guided discussions on research, internationalization, and institutional reforms, while breakout sessions addressed proposed offices, organizational restructuring, and validation of the Vision, Mission, and Core Values.
On the second day, participants finalized the KRAs, strategic goals, objectives, and KPIs, alongside branding discussions led by Engr. Bai Aljannah S. Macalandong. Dr. Naraga noted that the workshop marks the first phase of planning, with broader stakeholder consultations to follow before final approval.
Through this initiative, MSU–Maguindanao advances a cohesive and data-driven roadmap for academic excellence, responsive governance, and sustained service to Mindanao’s diverse communities.
