MSU-Maguindanao and UPLB Forge Academic Partnership Through MOU Signing

MSU-Maguindanao, led by Chancellor Bai Hejira Nefertiti M. Limbona, and the University of the Philippines Los Baños (UPLB), headed by Chancellor Jose V. Camacho Jr., signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on May 22, 2024, at UPLB.

In her message, Chancellor Limbona expressed appreciation to UPLB for its previous engagements with the university and for once again opening opportunities for collaboration. She emphasized that the partnership will further strengthen MSU-Maguindanao’s mission to serve Mindanao’s communities through education and public service.

Chancellor Camacho welcomed the agreement as a meaningful step in reinforcing regional academic networks. He noted that this collaboration is not the first between UPLB and MSU-Maguindanao, and that UPLB has partnered with almost all MSU campuses. Building on these existing ties, both institutions aim to pursue faculty exchanges, student mobility programs, joint research, community-based initiatives, and a shared vision for nation-building.

MSU-Maguindanao was joined by two other institutions—MSU-General Santos and Bayambang Polytechnic College(BPC) in Pangasinan—which also signed similar agreements with UPLB.

Among the attendees were Dr. Jenielyn Padrones, Director of the Office of Institutional Development in Higher Education; Dr. Jennifer Marie S. Amparo, Dean of the College of Human Ecology; and Assistant Professor Julie Aiza Mandap, Program Coordinator. From MSU-Maguindanao, participants included Vice Chancellor for Research and Extension Raquel Arenas, College of Fisheries Dean Ramjie Odin, and College of Forestry and Environmental Studies Dean Dr. Rowena Benavides.
