MSU-Maguindanao and MAFAR Partner for the 4th ICEFC, Forging Partnerships for Climate Action
#MSUMag | Mindanao State University-Maguindanao and the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries, and Agrarian Reform (MAFAR) BARMM signed a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) on August 25, 2023, at the Bangsamoro Government Center. The agreement aims to facilitate collaboration for the successful execution of the 4th International Conference on Environment and Forest Conservation (ICEFC).
The ICEFC is s conference that brings together researchers, policymakers, and practitioners from around the world to discuss the latest advances in environmental and forest conservation. The theme of the 4th ICEFC is “Forging Partnerships for Climate Action.”
The MOA outlines the roles, responsibilities, and commitments of both parties in organizing and participating in the conference. It also includes principles regarding intellectual property, access to information, and the ethical conduct of activities.
Minister Mohammad S. Yacob of MAFAR stressed the importance of collaboration between academia and government in addressing climate change. He said that academia can provide the expertise and research capabilities needed to address this complex issue, while government can provide the support and resources necessary to implement solutions.
Chancellor Bai Hejira Nefertiti M. Limbona expressed her gratitude to Minister Yacob for their collaborative efforts in fostering development within the Bangsamoro Region. She also extended her gratitude to MAFAR-BARMM for their vital role as one of the partners in the preparations for the 4th ICEFC which will be held on November 15-17, 2023.
