Mindanao State University-Maguindanao Receives Books from CHED and OPAPRU for Women, Peace and Security Diploma Program
The Commission on Higher Education (CHED) and the Office of the Presidential Adviser on Peace, Reconciliation, and Unity (OPAPRU) recently donated books to Mindanao State University – Maguindanao (MSU-Maguindanao) in support of its Diploma Program on Women, Peace, and Security. Led by Chair J. Prospero E. De Vera III, PhD, CHED handed over the books on April 23, 2024, at the CHED Building, UP-Diliman, Quezon City, Philippines. The turnover was attended by Dr. Sylvette Gunigundo, Director of the Office of Planning, Research, and Knowledge Management, and MSU-Maguindanao Chancellor Bai Hejira Nefertiti M. Limbona, PhD.
Chancellor Limbona thanked CHED and OPAPRU for their support to the program, which is set for offering in August 2023 pending approval from the System University Council and the MSU Board of Regents. The books, donated by the Knowledge and Management and Peace Institute Services Office of OPAPRU, were also received by MSU-Maguindanao personnel, including Director Grant Warren D. Lu of the Institute for Peace and Development in Mindanao (IPDM), Assistant Dean Atty. Lorevera Krishna D. Abellar-Alcober of the MSU College of Law – Maguindanao Extension Campus, and Datu Abdul Rauf Nazrullah S. Macalandong.
These contributions will enhance the Graduate School Library and establish the Women, Peace, and Security Resources Corner at MSU-Maguindanao, highlighting the commitment to empower future leaders in the Bangsamoro region with essential knowledge and skills for gender, peace, and development initiatives.
