DSWD, MSSD Provide Assistance to MSU-Mag’s Flood-Affected Constituents
MSU-Maguindanao constituents affected by flooding received assistance from the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD), in partnership with the Ministry of Social Services and Development (MSSD) – Maguindanao Branch, on June 4, 2025, at the DOS Gymnasium.
Chancellor Bai Hejira Nefertiti M. Limbona continues to prioritize the well-being of MSU-Maguindanao’s students and employees, driven by her commitment to respond promptly as part of the University’s ongoing efforts to uphold community welfare in times of crisis.
Most of the recipients of this assistance experienced sudden and severe flooding in their areas on May 20, 2025, which prevented them from attending classes or reporting to work. The flooding disrupted their mobility, damaged belongings, and limited access to basic needs, prompting the University and its partners to extend relief and support.
Relief food packs were distributed to 308 beneficiaries through the coordination of the Division of Student Affairs (DSA) and the Student Supreme Council (SSC), with the assistance of Prof. Sheryl Aguilar and Chief Officer Ivan P. Mandi. This effort was made possible through the support of DSWD personnel and former students of the University—Bai Abnessa Mayasa, Namilyn Gullon, Abduljabar Tiboron, and Mei-Atlaba—as well as MSSD representatives led by Baisittie Drus Ali Adam (MSWO), along with the social workers, Jomari Guiamalon and Faisal Esmail.
Alhamdulillah for a community united in heart and action.
