Mindanao State University–Maguindanao conducted a two-day re-echo session and workshop on the ASEAN University Network Quality Assurance (AUN-QA) Tier 1 on February 5–6, 2026, to strengthen internal quality assurance mechanisms and align academic programs with regional standards.
In her message, Chancellor Bai Hejira M. Limbona highlighted the need to cultivate discipline, professionalism, and good character in the performance of duties, acknowledging that the process may be challenging but is essential for institutional progress. She called on the University community to work collectively in elevating MSU-Maguindanao toward a more standardized and quality-driven phase. The Chancellor also stressed the institution’s responsibility to care for all stakeholders and to ensure that its education and services remain relevant, beneficial, and impactful.
The AUN-QA framework serves as a mechanism for promoting and sustaining quality assurance in higher education institutions across ASEAN member states. AUN-QA Tier 1 focuses on internal quality assurance at the program level, ensuring that academic offerings meet regional and international standards of excellence.
The re-echo session aimed to disseminate knowledge and insights gained from previous AUN-QA Tier 1 training and to equip stakeholders with the tools and competencies necessary for effective implementation.
Prof. Hanissa M. Francisco-Baraguir and Prof. Meldred O. Baguio-Sorbeto, who participated in the 21st ASEAN AUN-QA Tier 1 Training Course for Programme Assessment in Thailand in 2024, delivered comprehensive discussions on the AUN-QA Tier 1 framework, its criteria, and the development of the Self-Assessment Report (SAR). Through guided workshops, participants were introduced to practical strategies for aligning institutional and program-level quality assurance practices with AUN-QA standards.
