AFP Facilitates RAATI Inspection of MSUMag’s ROTC Unit

The Reserve Officers’ Training Corps (ROTC) cadets of Mindanao State University – Maguindanao, under the supervision of Prof. Regina P Canja, Prof. Omar S. Butuan and Col Onting M Alon (Ret) PA underwent the Regional Annual Administrative and Tactical Inspection (RAATI) on June 3, 2025, at the MSU-Maguindanao Parade Grounds. The inspection was facilitated by the Assistant Division Commander for Reservist and Retiree Affairs (ADCRRA) of the 6th Infantry Division (6ID), Philippine Army.

Chancellor Bai Hejira M. Limbona reaffirmed the university’s commitment to the ROTC program during the RAATI inspection, assuring that the university will continue to support and improve its implementation. She thanked the AFP and RAATI officials for their presence and partnership. She also emphasized the AFP’s role in instilling honor-driven leadership and patriotic service among the youth. Chancellor Limbona underscored the values of honor, patriotism, and duty as guiding principles of national service. Furthermore, she encouraged the cadets to embrace the discipline of training as preparation for future service, reminding them that “Duty is not a burden when borne for the country. Honor is not abstract when lived daily. Patriotism is not obsolete when Mindanao’s dawn rises on your shoulders.”

Col. Ruben G. Aquino GSC (INF) PA from ADCRRA, 6ID Chairperson, lauded the cadets for their performance, discipline, and unity throughout the inspection activities. He emphasized that RAATI is a vital part of strengthening youth development and readiness for national service.

This year, the MSU-Maguindanao ROTC unit garnered a score of 94.89%, reflecting the cadets’ high level of discipline, preparedness, and commitment to the ROTC program.

The RAATI seeks to assess the cadets’ training status, achievements, and competencies, as well as evaluate the administrative and operational readiness of the ROTC unit. It is conducted annually during the second semester to evaluate the performance of ROTC units across the region.

Maraganas Jr. (INF) PA, both from GDTS; Cpl. Charlie Mike G. Medallo (OS) PA of DRO; and CPT Dondon T. Malidas (INF) PA, Operations Officer/Planner of the 16RCDG.

The secretariat and support personnel included Msg. Joevanie E. Taño (INF) PA, TSg. Jerneel V. Rebollos (MI) PA, SSg. Roberto C. Sariego Jr. (INF) PA, and Sgt. Alvir L. Longcob (INF) PA, along with other officials, men from 1Mechanized Battalion headed by Col Robert Betita ARM (GSC) PA and men fm Alpha Company headed by Cpt. Alvin Q Rejas (QMS)PA staff, and students who contributed to the successful conduct of the inspection.
