𝐌𝐒𝐔-𝐌𝐚𝐠𝐮𝐢𝐧𝐝𝐚𝐧𝐚𝐨'𝐬 𝟒𝟓𝐭𝐡 𝐏𝐫𝐞-𝐂𝐨𝐦𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐄𝐱𝐞𝐫𝐜𝐢𝐬𝐞𝐬: 𝐇𝐨𝐧𝐨𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐀𝐜𝐚𝐝𝐞𝐦𝐢𝐜 𝐀𝐜𝐡𝐢𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐂𝐮𝐥𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐚𝐥 𝐏𝐫𝐢𝐝𝐞
#MSUMag | Mindanao State University – Maguindanao celebrated its 45th Pre-Commencement Exercises with great enthusiasm and pride, honoring the academic and non-academic achievements of its 620 graduates, 64 of whom are Latin Awardees. The ceremony was held on July 19, 2023 at the Datu Odin Sinsuat Gymnasium.
In her welcome remarks, VCAA Dr. Marissa N. Parcon congratulated the graduates for their perseverance, curiosity, and dedication to greatness. She also encouraged them to face life’s obstacles bravely and actively, seek meaningful collaborations that foster personal and societal growth, and truly embrace their obligation to serve mankind compassionately and meaningfully.
Hon. Abunawas “Von Al Haq” L. Maslamama, the Pre-Commencement Guest Speaker, delivered a stirring speech in which he extended felicitations to the graduates for their well-deserved success. He reminded them that their journey did not end with graduation, but marked the beginning of their transformative impact on the world. He encouraged them to view setbacks as opportunities for growth, and to hold on to their unshakable faith in the face of challenges. Quoting the essence of “Kun Faya Kun” or “Be, and it is,” he emphasized the power of determination and belief in Allah’s guidance. He reminded the graduates to embrace their unique cultural heritage, emphasizing the significance of diversity in fostering unity and harmony within the Bangsamoro region and beyond.
Chancellor Limbona, the Vice Chancellors, Senior Minister Von Al Haq, and respective Deans then proceeded to recognize the academic awards for the 64 graduates who stood out as shining examples of dedication and hard work. Each award recipient received an applause and admiration from the audience for their outstanding achievements.
In a touching gesture, the graduates paid tribute to their mentors and families by performing the heartfelt song “You Raise Me Up.” This moment was accompanied by the exchange of thoughtful gifts as tokens of gratitude for the support they had received throughout their academic journey.
The event concluded with the closing remarks by VCPD Dr. Arceli B. Naraga. Her words reiterated the university’s commitment to academic achievement and its earnest hope for a bright and prosperous future for all the graduates.
The MSU-Maguindanao Pre-Commencement Exercises not only celebrated academic achievement, but also symbolized the culmination of the graduates’ hard work, dedication, perseverance. It underscored the institution’s commitment to nurturing globally competitive professionals while celebrating the rich cultural heritage of the Bangsamoro region.
