The goals of the College of Forestry and Environmental Studies are the following:
- To produce quality and morally upright forestry professionals who are leaders in their profession and respective communities;
- To develop relevant, innovative and researches for regional and national development
- To strengthen extension service initiatives that are responsive to Gender and development of the communities.
- Integrate peace and global perspectives into the curriculum, and
- To provide leadership in research and extension to engage the cultural community served in global awareness initiatives through international
History of CForestry
History is the study of past events encompassing the evolution, development and achievements of human societies. It involves examining and analyzing the past, through documented evidence, artifacts, and literature. History helps us to understand the past and how it has shaped the present. It also provides insights into our culture, politics, economy, and technology. The study of history can deepen our understanding of the human experience by enabling us to better understand change, continuity, and causation. It can also teach us about different social, cultural, and ideological perspectives that have shaped our world. Studying history can inspire us to appreciate the present and prepare us for the future by understanding the challenges and opportunities of our time.
Programs Offered
The BACHELOR OF SCIENCE IN FORESTRY (General Forestry) aims to:
- Professional Foresters equipped and trained with social, Peace, Culture and GAD sensitivity, economic and environmental dimensions of forestry resources;
- competent academicians, researchers and extension officers equipped with peace, culture and GAD awareness to advance the growth of Forestry and Environmental Science;
- advocates of sustainable management, conservation, and development of Forestry resources through public education and extension services;
- responsible Foresters and Environmentalists in the region,
- inclusive and equitable quality forestry education that promote global learning opportunities,
- adapters to universal access related to Forestry and Environmental Studies for global degree of improvement in Efficiency, and
- imbibers of the concept of peace, peacebuilding, cultural diversity, inclusiveness of gender and development, and respect in the curriculum as part of the pursued profession
