52 Years and Beyond for MSUMag’s Continuing Growth

The weeklong celebration of the 52nd Founding Anniversary of Mindanao State University–Maguindanao culminated on October 10, 2025, at the Datu Odin Sinsuat Gymnasium with a closing program filled with gratitude, pride, and hope for the future.

Chancellor Bai Hejira Nefertiti M. Limbona recognized the collective efforts that have shaped the university’s journey. “We need first to acknowledge the contributions of our partners and stakeholders in making MSU-Maguindanao the university it is today. We have stood true to our mantra of Rising in Collaboration, and as we move forward, we hope to serve more communities and see the impact of what we are doing for the people we serve,” she said. She further emphasized the university’s commitment to its students, adding: “Mga mahal naming estudyante, gusto kong matandaan ninyo na lahat ng ito, lahat ng ginagawa namin, at ginagawa ng mga partners natin, ay para po ‘yan sa future ninyo.”

For his part, Major General Donald M. Gumiran, PA, Commander of the 6th Infantry (Kampilan) Division and Joint Task Force Central Mindanao, underscored the vital role of collaboration between educational institutions and the security sector in sustaining peace and development in Mindanao. “We thank MSU-Maguindanao for its steadfast leadership and for recognizing the efforts of the 6th Infantry (Kampilan) Division as your partner for peace and development. This partnership is not merely symbolic—it reflects our collective commitment to building a stable and progressive Bangsamoro region where education and peace go hand in hand,” he said.

“Education remains the strongest weapon against ignorance, extremism, and division, and universities like MSU-Maguindanao stand at the forefront of that noble fight. Peace and development cannot thrive in isolation; they demand cooperation, trust, and a whole-of-nation approach toward one vision: a peaceful, united, and progressive Bangsamoro,” he added.

The celebration also served as an opportunity to honor the new MSU-Maguindanao professionals, graduates who successfully passed the March 2025 Licensure Examination for Teachers and the September 2025 Licensure Examination for Social Workers. Their achievements brought pride and inspiration to the university community, embodying MSU-Maguindanao’s mission of academic excellence and public service.

VCPD Dr. Arceli B. Naraga commended everyone who contributed to the success of the anniversary celebration. “Good job to MSU-Maguindanao! Tayo ay naging mga kalaro, naging mga kasama, at naging mga kaibigan,” she said. Dr. Naraga also expressed gratitude to Congresswoman Bai Dimple Mastura for extending support through cash prizes for the winners: ₱35,000 for the Champion, ₱25,000 for the 1st Runner-Up, ₱20,000 for the 2nd Runner-Up, and ₱15,000 each for the 3rd to 9th placers.

As MSU-Maguindanao celebrates, it looks ahead with renewed dedication to Rising in Collaboration, nurturing future leaders, peacebuilders, and innovators who will help build a community with a shared future for all.
