MSU-Maguindanao Enhances QA Practices at AUN-QA Programme Assessment Training in Thailand
MSU-Maguindanao participated in the 21st ASEAN University Network-Quality Assurance (AUN-QA) Tier 1 Training Course for Programme Assessment, held on November 12–15, 2024, at the Crowne Plaza Lumpini Park, Bangkok, Thailand.
Chancellor Limbona has been an advocate for enhancing the quality of services provided to clients, consistently emphasizing its crucial role in achieving high standards and building trust within the community. This vision aligns closely with the university’s participation in the AUN-QA programme assessment process, which aims to ensure that academic programmes meet quality standards through self-assessment and external review.
The AUN-QA assessment evaluates essential criteria, including clear learning outcomes, coherent curriculum design, effective teaching and assessment methods, and adequate facilities and support services. Aligning programme objectives, content, and delivery with AUN-QA standards involves conducting a gap analysis to identify areas for improvement and ensure compliance with regional benchmarks.
During the course, Prof. Hanissa F. Baraguir, Director of the Quality Management System Services Office, and Prof. Meldred B. Sorbito, Director of the Program Accreditation Services Office, were introduced to key quality assurance concepts and tools. These included the Self-Assessment Report (SAR) writing process, essential for evaluating institutional practices against AUN-QA criteria. The training emphasized the importance of continuous improvement and self-assessment as critical components for maintaining quality in both academic and administrative functions.
