MSU-Maguindanao Concludes 3-Day Sportsfest 2024

MSU-Maguindanao wrapped up its 3-day Sportsfest 2024 on September 25, 2024, at the Datu Odin Sinsuat Gymnasium, bringing together competitive students, athletes, coaches, and sports officials.

Director Saidamen Odin Limgas, MSU System Liaison Officer, reaffirmed the institution’s commitment to supporting MSU-Maguindanao’s future initiatives and announced upcoming IT modernization projects for students.

Following this, the Social Work Department of the College of Public Affairs and Governance was recognized for being among the Top 7 Best Performing Social Work Schools in the Philippines.

The awarding ceremony energized the crowd as the overall champion for Sportsfest 2024, the Conquerors from the College of Agriculture, claimed victory. MVPs of each game were also awarded with medals and awards, and additional tokens were presented by the representative of Sen. Bong Go.

VCAA Dr. Marissa Parcon extended her gratitude to the sponsors, Sec. Sonny Angara, Sen. Pia Cayetano, Sen. Bong Go, and Director Limgas, as well as the Philippines Sports Commission. She highlighted the core values of sportsmanship, including physical fitness, teamwork, and leadership, and concluded with a poignant quote from Heywood Broun: “Sports do not build character. They reveal it,” emphasizing the impact of sports beyond mere competition.
