Recognizing Women as Forerunners in International Women’s Day Celebration
The University, through the Division of Student Affairs, led by Prof. Julmaherria M. Salipada, CAS Assistant Dean Dr. Lydia S. Bawa, and the Supreme Student Council (SSC), led by President Norjannah Campiao, organized the International Women’s Day Celebration on March 7, 2025, at the DOS Gymnasium, MSU-Maguindanao.

Chancellor Bai Hejira M. Limbona expressed deep gratitude to the women of past generations who made significant strides, allowing us to benefit from their efforts. She emphasized that this is also for the students—not just for women—as it represents the struggles women face every day. “We work for the betterment of the common good—whether for our parents, sisters, brothers, friends, or future families. Our efforts should always serve a greater purpose, and we should always strive to give back to our community,” she said. She also acknowledged the invaluable support of men who stand with women and the resilience of women who continue to shape the future—the future we all aspire to build. “Alhamdulillah. Happy International Women’s Day!” she concluded.
A significant part of the celebration was the booth display, where each college represented a different country and featured great speeches and statements from prominent women in their respective fields. Also, students actively participated in impromptu speaking, slogan-making, poster-making competitions, and product displays, providing a platform to showcase their creativity and advocacy for women’s empowerment.
Director Salipada highlighted that true empowerment goes beyond recognition—it is about continuously creating opportunities and spaces for inclusivity and equality. She also expressed her gratitude to Chancellor Limbona for her unwavering support and visionary leadership, recognizing her as a great example of an empowered woman and a leader who fosters progress and inclusivity within the institution.
Indeed, the celebration stands as a testament to the university’s continuous commitment to promoting gender equality and empowering women in all sectors of society.
