BSEd-English offers a curriculum with the end view of producing globally competitive and employable teacher graduates who are well-equiped with expertise in content and pedagogy, product-oriented, and possess relevant competencies in the areas of linguistics, language education, and literature that are necessary in managing the learning and teaching of English as a second language in a multilingual context. Furthermore, the new General Education courses shall also equip the graduates with intellectual and civic competencies. Finally, graduates of this program may also proceed to practice careers in journalism, creative writing, publishing, and translation.
Entry Requirements
The basic requirement for eligibility for admission of a student to the Bachelor of Secondary Education major in English (BSEd English) a. must be a graduate from Senior High School level of any tracks of the of the University or any instittutions recognized by the Departement of Education;
b. must take the System Admission and Scholarship Examination (SASE); c. must pass the College of Education (CEd) oral and written qualifying tests administered by the College Guidance Counselor; and d. must have a final grade of 83% or better in English, Math, Science in grade 12.

Fees to be collected in line with the implementation of the Bachelor of Secondary Education major in English will be based on the prevailing rate and policies of the University.
