Course Description/Overview

BS Information Technology (BSIT) major in Database System is a four (4) year program. The BSIT program includes the study of the utilization of both hardware and software technologies involving planning, installing, customizing, operating, managing and administering and maintaining information technology infrastructure that provides computing solutions to address the needs of an organizations. It introduces the students to the theories and technologies associated with the analysis, design, implementation, and maintenance of small, medium, and large data repositories and data warehouses. Furthermore, shall encourage them to apply the skills and knowledge they will gain to solve real-life problems. As our students study information technology, they also develop research and communication skills, learn to critically evaluate their work, and eventually make adequate preparation for the future workplace or further advancement in the field through further studies.

Admission Requirements

1. SASE CUT-OFF SCORE for Incoming First Year Students
a. SASE CUT-OFF Score differs every school year depending on the mean score of thee test takers set by the Admission Office in consultation with the APC and VCAA. Math Category should be 13 points or higher.
b. Students with lower score:
• High School Card in Mathematics should be 83 or higher ; or
• BP/PUP grade in Mathematics should be 2.75.

2. Transferees fro within and other MSU Campuses
a. Must have no failing grade in Mathemathics subjects and IT related subjects

3. Transferees from other Schools
a. Must pass the Admission exam given by the Admission Office. (Same rules apply in Reequirement No. 1 and 2)

4. Second Course Students who are degree holders and who wish to seek admission shall have his/her Transcript of Records be evaluated noting specially, grades in Mathematics and IT related subjects.

Admission Policy

A. A graduate of K-12 under STEM track, However, graduates from the other tracks may still be admitted subject to an appropriate bridging program designed by the University.
• SASE Cut-Off Score for Incoming Freshmen
The SASE cut-off score for incoming freshmen is set by the department. Other documentary requirements may be precribed by the Admission and Registrar’s Offices.

B. Transferees from Within other Campuses
a. Transferees shall apply for admission in the IT Department
b. The tranferee must have a GPA of 2.75 or better.
