Unity for our Planet: Mobilizing for Climate Action

#MSUMag | MSU-Maguindanao officials headed by Chancellor Bai Hejira M. Limbona met with Secretary Robert EA Borje of the Climate Change Comm on May 25, 2023. The purpose of the meeting was to discuss potential avenues for collaborating between the two agencies.

Secretary Borje expressed his support on the University’s programs in addressing climate change and promoting sustainable actions. Additionally, he offered to have a prominent role in the upcoming 4th International Conference on Environment and Forest Conservation.

Chancellor Limbona underscored the imperative of taking action on climate change while highlighting the importance to localized climate action measures.

The face-to-face meeting took place on May 18, 2023 at the Climate Change Commission in Manila and was subsequently followed by a virtual meeting on May 25, 2023.

Climate Change Commission is the lead policy-making body of the government tasked to coordinate, monitor and evaluate government programs and ensure mainstreaming of climate change in national, local, and sectoral development plans towards a climate-resilient and climate-smart Philippines. It envisions a climate-resilient and climate-smart Philippines with highly adaptive communities.
